Maple tree removed with verticillium wilt.

Today we were busy taking down a dying maple tree which had verticillium wilt. The tree was in the back yard of a home on Pine Dr. in the city of Barrie. Verticillium wilt is a usually fatal disease of Maple trees. There is usually no treatment for verticillium wilt. If you suspect your tree is infected it is best to remove it right away as it can spread via roots to other maple trees in the nearby area. It is even recommended to remove the stump and roots. This particular tree was in the backyard hanging over the fence and the neighbors smaller ornamental tree and had to be climbed and removed in pieces by our arborist.
